Additionally, the household must have been impacted by COVID in any of the following ways:
• job/income loss, temporary or permanent • reduction in work hours/income • increased healthcare or household expenses that attributed to insufficiency of rent payments
(i.e. increased child care expenses due to school closures) • unable to find or maintain gainful employment due to COVID-19
• other evidence of negative impact of COVID-19
Applicants who have previously received rent or utility assistance from the City of Dallas, or any other agency or organization through the CARES Act is ineligible to receive additional funds.
Assistance CoverageThe assistance will be used to pay all or a part of an individual’s rent and/or utilities. Funding may be used to pay arrears, reconnection fees, or late fees. Disbursed amounts will cover up to two (2) months of rental and/or utility payments and up to one (1) month for arrears only, for a maximum of three (3) months. The household is only eligible to receive a maximum of $1500 in assistance per month. Assistance program DOES NOT cover mortgage payments, first month's rent, rental deposits or hotel stays.
Expectations Applicants are expected to have a financial plan in place to sustain rent and/or utilities after receipt of assistance.

4. Proof of ALL Income for EVERYONE working in the household over 17 years old (30 days of most recent check stubs, Offer Letter on company letterhead, Texas Workforce Commission documents, child support, alimony, SSI, SSDI, City of Dallas Self Certification Form, etc.).
5. Proof of COVID impact (job/income loss, reduction in work hours/income, increased healthcare or household expenses, inability to find or maintain employment, etc.)
Utility Assistance
1. Photo ID

3. Most recent Utility Bill(s)
4. Late/Disconnection Notice(s)
